What do I do if I suspect a gas leak?

If you think you have a gas leak or can smell gas, leave the house and phone National Grid on 0800 111 999. If you are able and it is safe to do so you turn off the gas supply to your house using the tap situated next to the gas meter.

How often should I get my boiler serviced?

It is advised that you have your boiler serviced every 12 months.


What can you expect from a boiler service? How long does it take?

An average boiler service will take approximately 60 mins depending on the appliance.
On the service we will remove and clean the necessary components, replace any seals and carry out a combustion analysis.


I have an old boiler; can you service it?

We can carry out a service on any domestic gas boiler. After the service is complete we will advise you of any recommendations we feel appropriate.


Do I need ongoing boiler cover?

Large companies can charge you up to £375 a year for boiler cover and repair. Although this may suit some households, if your boiler doesn’t break down this can work out to be costly. These boiler covers also do not cover boiler replacements. 70% of breakdowns can be completed in 1 hour and with our competitive call out fees can work out more cost effective.


How long will my repair take?

The majority of heating system repairs can completed in an hour, however this depends on the fault and type of heating system.


Do you have a minimum call out time?

Our initial call out period last up to 1 hour and is charged at £50. Any additional time is charged at £30 per hour.


What if my boiler can’t be fixed on the first call out?

If your boiler needs parts we will do our best to get these the same day. Where this isn’t possible we will order them for the earliest opportunity and return on a date when convenient for you.


What do I do if I have no hot water?

First of all, most modern boilers have a reset button and a fault code, make a note of the code and try pressing the reset button. Unsure of where the reset button is? Find out where to find your reset button here. If the boiler lights and continues to operate correctly just keep a note of the fault code for future reference. If the boiler faults again you will need a heating engineer to visit.


My heating isn’t working. Do I need a new boiler?

Not necessarily. Most modern boilers have a reset button. To begin with, try pushing the reset button, find out where to find your reset button. If this doesn't work then you will need a heating engineer to visit.


I need a new boiler, which should I get?

Can you install gas central heating?

Yes, we can. Please get in touch and we can provide you with a quotation for boiler and heating system installations.


It’s freezing outside and my boiler’s not working. Do I need to call an engineer?

Not necessarily. If your boiler has a condensate pipe run to a drain outside this can freeze. Try pouring some boiling water along the length of the external pipe.


My radiators are cold at the bottom. What do I do?

If your radiator has cold spots at the bottom, its most likely that there is a build up of magnetite (sludge) in your heating system and you could do with having the heating system cleaned out with a flush, this is best performed by a professional and is something that we can help with, view our services.


My radiators are cold at the top. What do I do?

This is most likely air trapped in the top of the radiator. This will need to be bled using a radiator bleed key, follow our 'how to' guide for step-by-step instructions. If you have a sealed system you will need to check the pressure once the air has been removed.
